He is Risen!

Almost 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ endured unimaginable torture and pain because of our sin.  He was not nailed to a cross because they chose to put him there; he was nailed to a cross because of our sin.  If we had never sinned, he wouldn’t have needed to go to the cross.  And even though we did sin, God could have condemned each of us to eternal punishment.  But he didn’t, because He loved us too much to let us perish without any hope.  He loved us so much that He was willing to send His only Son to earth to be a man and die for us.  Out of love, Jesus went to the cross to give us hope.

On Good Friday, we remembered His terrible suffering, death, and burial.  We remembered the sacrifice He made out of His love, on our behalf.  It was you and I who nailed Him to that cross.  And Christ repaid our evil with goodness, even when we did nothing to deserve it.  But even in our sinful state, He loved us too much to let us perish without a way of escape.  So He came to earth and died for us.

But, PRAISE THE LORD, the story does not end there!  Jesus did not stay dead, but defeated death and rose victorious from the grave!  All out of pure, selfless, unwavering, ever-abounding love.

Resurrection Sunday, more commonly known as Easter, is the “anniversary” of His resurrection, when we praise Him expressly for His act of love and celebrate His victory over death.  Yesterday was Easter, and now we have many more days before it will come again.  But does that mean we shouldn’t celebrate until next year?  NO!  His resurrection is just as true a fact today as it was yesterday.  We should never cease celebrating that wonderful day!

That day long ago gives us hope for eternal life with Him, if we just believe on Him.

Please continue praising Him for His unspeakable gift yesterday, today and forever!

Rest safely today knowing that He has RISEN and is reigning!
