Singing… O Sifuni Mungu.  This song, people… so fun!

Trusting… that God’s will is best, 100% of the time; even when trials come or things happen that I don’t understand.  Last week I found out that I have to have oral surgery… again.  This was definitely NOT my plan!  I’m not sure why God placed this mini-trial in my life, but He has a reason and I have to trust Him with it.

Eating… sour cream and tortilla chips.  Ah, my old friends :)

Starting… a hymn arrangement for all of my instruments.  This is the first time I’ve written an arrangement for 3 instruments so I’m pretty excited!

Finishing… my latest piano solo hymn arrangement.  I’m in the process of putting it to music right now, which I’m also pretty excited about.  Hopefully it’ll be completed this coming month!

Learning… the absolutely gorgeous piece, Clair de Lune <3

Thinking… about the sad picture of womanhood today.  I hear jokes all the time about women being the bosses of families, talking too much, etc.  When you compare the normal, or even Christian woman to God’s design for womanhood shown in the Word, the result is very sad.  Is meekness not a virtue anymore?  Whatever happened to submission?  God’s principles are unchanging, despite the constant culture changes around us.  Having a meek and quiet spirit today is just as important as it was when 1 Peter 3:4 was written.  Those are just some thoughts of mine lately.

Traveling… here, there, and yonder!  Just kidding :)  I did go to Michigan this path month, however, to visit extended family.

Enjoying… cool mornings, chocolate ice cream, surprise rolls of thunder, letter writing, and playing the piano like always ;)

Celebrating… another out-of-cancer-treatment anniversary!  (Well, I didn’t do any actual celebrating this year due to completely forgetting about it until this morning, but still ;)

Considering… doing something special for childhood cancer awareness month, which is next month (September).  Any ideas?

Planning… to post a little more often on this blog in August than I did in July.  But no promises.

What have you been up to lately?
Any fun plans for August?

  1. I loved O Sifuni Mungu, too!! I have it stuck in my head so badly. ;-) At first, I didn't like it at all, but it grew on me, and now I love it! Music camp was so fun! I loved that you were the dorm across from me and that we were in the same devotional group. Such a great week! I'll be praying for your oral surgery. When is it?

I always enjoy your "currently" posts, it's great to hear what you've been up to! I'm so sorry you have to have oral surgery again... I know it's hard, but trust the Lord, He works all things out to the good of those that live for Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28)! I hope your trip to Michigan was fun! Ooh, you've been letter writing? Possibly to me perhaps? Haha! Praise the Lord you are celebrating another out of cancer treatment anniversary! That is so wonderful! :)

I'll let you know what I've been up to in my next letter. ;) Did you get my magazine?

    1. Thanks Livy. I know, I just have to trust God with my surgery. It's been quite the trial in my life this week! Please pray for me.
Yes, I did receive your magazine and enjoyed reading it :)

  3. Sounds like you've had a great summer! I've been doing similar things - music camp, practicing, writing, traveling - it's been lots of fun! You'll have to show me some of your arrangements some time. What if for childhood cancer awareness month, you could have some sort of toy drive or something? You could have a bin downtown or something and have a poster about your story and about what you're doing, and then bring any toys you get to a hospital to be distributed to some of the kids. Just a thought for ya ;-)!

  6. Sorry to hear about your upcoming surgery! Prayers coming your way!
How neat that you're working on your first arrangement with three instruments! I'm actually working on my first accompaniment with three instruments (well, have been for a while! ;) and it's for a song that I wrote. Hopefully I can finish it sometime this year.
And chocolate ice-cream sounds sooo good right now... Our weather has been in the hundreds this past week!

Oh yay, that's fun! Let me know when you finish your accompaniment! :)
WOW, it's been really hot up there! We've been in the 90s a lot --- maybe touched 100 --- but it hasn't been consistently 100 I don't think. Don't roast to death, Grace! :P
