About

Hey y’all!

Welcome to my blog!  My name is Grace, and I am a red-headed daughter of the One true King.  I am forever indebted to the Lord’s glorious love and grace!  I am passionate about redeeming the time and living for God's glory, and I hope to spread that passion through my writing here at Grace Notes.  If you would like to know more about me, you've come to the right place!

My favorite place of all is the piano bench.  Touching the beautiful keys and hearing the music rebound thrills me to the core!  In addition to piano, I play flute, viola, erhu (Chinese violin), kalimba (thumb piano), and a crystal piccolo.  I also enjoy singing alto in my church choir and small groups when I get the chance.  Rich harmony makes my heart soar!  Looking ahead to the future, Lord willing, I hope to continue using my musical abilities through teaching, church music, and composition.  My aspiration is to create beautiful music that glorifies God.  Click here to visit my YouTube channel.

One Bible verse that is very special to me is Psalm 23:1, and you probably know it well: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.  This beautiful verse reminds me that Christ is my all in all.  He is all I will ever need!  Some other verses that are special to me are: James 4:17, Philippians 3:7-8, Matthew 5:13, 2 Corinthians 12:9a, and Ephesians 5:16, to name a few.  Note: any unspecified Scripture references on my blog should be in the King James Version.

I love missions and hearing about the work God is doing across the globe.  There is a special place in my heart the continent of Africa, which God laid on my heart after reading the book Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis.  I would love to go on a mission trip there someday, as well as any other place God opens the door for me to go to.

I love words -- both talking and writing them -- and with my red hair, Anne Shirley and I could have been related.  I love to write anything from letters to articles to packing lists, and everything in between!  I began this blog in April of 2015 as an outlet to share my writing.  These are simply my notes to you!  Oh, and don’t be surprised if you see the world “y’all” around here -- I live down south and use it a lot. :)

Some of my favorite things include: babies, Moose Tracks ice cream, sea-breeze blue, headbands, road trips, tacos, denim skirts, journals, photographs, late night jam sessions with friends, sibling dates, volleyball, script fonts, globes, and grand pianos.

It is my hope that everything on this blog is God-honoring and encouraging to my sisters in Christ.  Please feel free to look around, and then drop me a comment before you leave!

           In His Love,
                Grace

  5. Hello, Grace! It sounds like we have a lot in common! I also play the piano (along with two other instruments), am learning to sing alto, and have a desire to serve the Lord wherever He places me. :) I found you through the Annie Writes blog, on which you were interviewed in January. :) I'm planning on reading through your posts, and probably following through my WordPress Reader (in which case you probably won't be able to see that I'm following, since I don't think WordPress connects to Blogger very well).
    In Christ,

    1. Leona, thank you for introducing yourself! It's great to hear how you found Grace Notes! ;) Anna is so sweet! We had a lot of fun with our interviews.
What other two instruments do you play? I'd like to encourage you -- I know from personal experience that learning alto can seem a bit daunting to start with, but keep it up, and one day you'll be able to do it almost effortlessly! I was overwhelmed when I began singing alto, and now I can confidently sing it on my own to most hymns. It's encouraging to see how far I've come! I don't know how its coming along for you, but just thought I'd share that :)
I hope you are encouraged by everything you read here on my blog -- feel free to leave comments on any post you'd like! I love hearing my readers' thoughts!

    2. I play violin and organ. :)
Yes, alto is difficult, but I think I'm getting better. I don't have a teacher; I just read it out of the hymn book. :) I love singing! It helps that I play the violin, because I usually play alto in the church orchestra, so I've been picking it up from that. :) Thanks for the encouragement!
