Welcome! My name is Grace, and I am a red-headed girl who loves her Redeemer. I am forever indebted to the Lord’s glorious love and grace! Some of my favorite things include: babies, Moose Tracks ice cream, sea-breeze blue, headbands, road trips, tacos, denim skirts, journals, photographs, script fonts, globes, and grand pianos.
My favorite place of all is the piano bench. Touching the beautiful keys and hearing the music swell thrills me to the core! When I first found out that there was a note “named after me” (referring to the term grace note), you could imagine my excitement! In addition to piano, I also play flute, erhu (Chinese violin), and a crystal piccolo. In the future, I hope to use my musical abilities by teaching, church music, and composition. My aspiration is to create beautiful music that glorifies God.
One Bible verse that is very special to me is Psalm 23:1, and you probably know it well: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. This beautiful verse reminds me that Christ is my protector, my sustainer, and my all in all. He is all I will ever need! Some other verses that are special to me are: James 4:17, Philippians 3:7-8, Matthew 5:13, 2 Corinthians 12:9a, and Ephesians 5:16 -- to name a few. I also absolutely love James 4.
At the age of 6, I was diagnosed with Lymphoma. God’s goodness and faithfulness brought me through treatment, and now I am a childhood cancer survivor. Praise the Lord! I have a passion for sharing my story and encouraging families who have a child with cancer. To read my thoughts on childhood cancer awareness, please visit this post.
I love the continent of Africa, which God put on my heart after I read the book Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis. My heart reaches out to the many children in Africa who are orphaned or impoverished. I would love to go on a mission trip there someday.
I love words -- both talking and writing them -- and with my red hair, Anne Shirley and I could have been related. I love to write anything from letters to articles to packing lists, and everything in between! I began this blog in April of 2015 as an outlet to share my writing. These are simply my notes to you! Oh, and don’t be surprised if you see the world “y’all” around here – I live down south and use it a lot :)
It is my hope that everything on this blog is God-honoring and encouraging to my sisters in Christ. Please feel free to look around, and then drop me a comment before you leave!
In His Love,
