Recipe // Peanut Butter Cups
Hey y’all! A few weeks
ago a friend and I got together and had a craving for something chocolate. Being the person I am who hates following
instructions, I pulled out some peanut butter and chocolate chips and was
determined to make peanut butter cups with them, without a recipe. So many recipes call for so many different
ingredients and a lot of time, and we didn’t have much time. So, we made these without a recipe in minutes. And they were perfectly scrumptious.
Basically, all you do is: put chocolate chips in a bowl;
microwave + stir however many times until they melted. Pour a layer of chocolate on the bottom of the
mini-cupcake wrappers, then a layer of peanut butter, then another layer of
chocolate to sandwich the peanut butter in between the chocolate. Then put them in the freezer to start
hardening for a few minutes. Once they
begin hardening, move to the fridge to finish hardening. The freezer helps quicken the hardening, but
don’t leave it in long unless you might break your teeth!
(As you can see in the photo, several of them have only the
first layer chocolate; some have the chocolate and peanut butter, and some have
all 3 layers finished.)
These actually taste quite like normal peanut butter cups, in
my opinion. The peanut butter doesn’t really
harden much, and the chocolate goes solid, so be careful how long you keep them
in. Adjust the amounts of chocolate/peanut
butter to fit your preferences.
